First of all, I would like to thank Yoshiko and Haruyo again for a wonderful experience. Thank you for the hospitality, deep insights into Japanese culture and the great food we learned to cook!
Yoshiko picked us up at the station and we went together to her home. Her friend Haruyo joined to assist us and we got the opportunity to learn from two experienced home chefs.
Since it was my husband’s birthday I wished for special composed set of dishes and we got more than I could wish for. We found everything very well prepared (almost too well prepared) so it was extremely simple to start cooking.
We cooked delicious Japanese dishes; shabu-shabu, chicken teriyaki, miso-soup, Japanese omelette, Japanese salad, asparagus with sesame and rice with Japanese Pickle. We had a great lunch and shared many laughs and experiences.
The class will provide you with a great foundation for authentic Japanese cooking. After the cooking lesson we got the recipes to bring with us and we went directly to the supermarket and bought some of the ingredients to make the recipes when we get home.
